Robert Mahanti, M.D.
A graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, Robert L. Mahanti, M.D. went on to Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI. Dr. Mahanti completed his Post-Doctoral training as Resident in Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. He also completed a Fellowship in Refractive Surgery. Dr. Mahanti is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Mahanti has been in private Ophthalmology practice in the Arizona area since 1992. He enjoys golfing, flying, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his clinical appointments, Dr. Mahanti maintains memberships in several professional societies, including:
- American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery
- Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society
Dr. Mahanti’s international experience includes:
- Ophthalmologist, LBJ Tropical Medical Center, American Samoa
- Invited teacher with J. Charles Casebeer M.D. to teach and demonstrate radial keratotomy and automated lamellar keratoplasty in India. Courses taught in Ahmedabad, Madras, and Hyderabad.
- Invited guest to teach cataract surgery, Jinan Center Hospital, Jinan, China.
Dr. Mahanti has given numerous presentations and has published articles in his areas of expertise involving Ophthalmology.
Randy Wolfe, OD
Dr. Wolfe received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Kinesiology at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. He later earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Midwestern University – Arizona College of Optometry.
During his training, he participated in elementary school screenings, volunteered for the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure and was involved numerous research studies such as Environmental Humidity and Stability of Tear Film, evaluating efficacy and safety of medication of open angle glaucoma, and monitoring complications and stability of post-surgical iStent Injection.
Dr. Wolfe is passionate about patient education. His experience working with multiple sites in Arizona provided him with expertise in various eye conditions including dry eyes, cataracts, glaucoma, binocular vision disorders, diabetic retinopathy, age related macular degeneration, foreign body removal, uveitis, corneal ulcers and ocular surface diseases.
Dr. Wolfe has a wide-ranging practice, including routine eye exams, diabetic eye care and contact fittings. Dr. Wolfe also manages dry eyes, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and various ocular diseases.
Dr. Wolfe grew in Phoenix Arizona and is dedicated to bringing exceptional eye care to his patients. Dr. Wolfe enjoys spending time with his family.
The Practice
The Eye & Laser Center’s first priority is delivering the highest quality eye care to the population of Flagstaff and its surrounding communities. Dr. Mahanti while having special training and expertise in refractive surgery (procedures to reduce dependence on glasses and contact lenses), he provides a wide range of services. Outpatient cataract and other eye surgery are provided by an on-site facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Diabetic and glaucoma lasers can be performed on-site. Routine and emergency care are provided on a daily basis. Visiting subspecialists regularly use the office to assist with difficult eye problems.
Dr. Mahanti is on active staff at Flagstaff Medical Center and helps with trauma, medical eye consults and emergencies. He has an excellent rapport with other physicians in the Flagstaff community and regularly works with them in helping patients with their eye and vision problems. He is proud and humbled that many of our local physicians and their family members have chosen him for their eye surgery.
